Problem / Need
Across the Waves had planned on renovations and construction throughout their venue to lift the appearance and ensure their patrons had access to the best facilities. With large amounts of daily traffic to the club, all works had to be planned and staged in concert with the client to minimise the impact on the clubs trading.
After a 24-week build with daily consultation with the client to ensure current progress matched up with the projected usage of the club, additional toilet facilities, realignment of the main bar and bistro dining area was completed and handed over. The team at Across The Waves were happy to report minimal impact on the club's trading over the construction period.
The Waves Sports Club undertook two major refurbishments in 2016. Stage 1 included the extension of the bistro seating area and the introduction of 5-star amenities unparalleled in the community, including a purpose-built parent’s room, which focussed on parents’ needs and requests. Stage 2 then ensued with the complete transformation of the club’s main bar area, featuring a rustic feel to emulate warmth, raised ceiling for extra height and depth perception, ambient and sustainable lighting with a modern contemporary feel. The Waves Sports Club
Once again, The Waves partnered with Christensen Industries to undertake this project, who ensured that the total project was well executed, delivered within budget constraints and accomplished on time. During the building process, Christensen Industries adapted their workload to suit the trading demands of The Waves, ensuring minimal-to-no disruption to trade during the entire project.
As a result of the fine workmanship and attention to detail provided by Christensen Industries, The Waves won the Best Redevelopment (Under $2M) at the annual “Clubs Queensland Awards for Excellence”. This was to complement The Waves winning Best Club Redevelopment (Over $2M), which was another project also completed by Christensen Industries. The Waves highly recommends Christensen Industries for any prospective projects, and we are looking forward to partnering with Christensen Industries in the future for the next stage of The Waves development.
